About
The Anglican Parish of Opawa-St Martins was formed from the merger of St Mark’s Church in Opawa and St Anne’s Church in St Martins.
Our church is named after Saint Mark the Evangelist, the author of the earliest Gospel, who was the first to bring the Good News to Egypt and North Africa. His symbol is the winged lion.
Our chapel is named after Saint Anne, the mother of Mary, the grandmother of Jesus.
One of our principal ministries is to support the Christian life of St Mark’s School, Opawa.
Buildings
St Mark’s Church reopened in May 2022 after a post-earthquake rebuild and repair programme that included the construction of St Anne’s Chapel.
