We’re on the move!
WE’RE ON THE MOVE!
After some concern about delays, we are now confident about returning to St Mark’s Church at the end of this month! Can I get an Easter Alleluia!!
Sunday 22nd May – 11am - Moving Day
After the 10am service, it’s all-hands-on-deck to shift items from their various temporary storage sites back into St Mark’s. This means clearing out the school storage room, the Vicar’s garage, the garage at 3 Vincent Place and some of the Vicar’s study. We hope to shift most items before lunch, and will then re-convene from 2pm for those that are able.
Friday 27th May – 5:30pm - Gospel Reading with Fish ‘n’ Chips
The first formal event in the restored church will be the public reading of the entire Gospel of St Mark. We will gather to hear the gospel proclaimed from 5:30 – 7:30 before sharing in a fish ‘n’ chip dinner and a tour of the church. All parishioners are invited.
Saturday 28th May – 2pm – Re-opening and Blessing Service with +Peter
This is an invitation-only event to ensure we stay under the capacity limit of 240 people. During the service Bishop Peter will formally consecrate St Anne’s Chapel, and bless the site for future ministry and mission. The service will include a contingent of diocesan clergy, local ministers, school leaders, construction staff, and past-parishioners of St Anne’s.
Sunday 29th May – 10am – First Eucharist (incl. Baptism)
This will be the first communion service in the space, and is open to any and all. This is our chance to gather and celebrate as a parish, made all the more special with the baptism of Ida Greenwood.
