Ten Trees

Volunteers from the Anglican Parish of Opawa-St Martins/ Te Haahi Mihinare Opawaho ki Raapaki joined a community planting day at Halswell Quarry. There were so many volunteers that the planting was over so quickly that the attention quickly moved to the free bbq laid on. With gloves, spades, and bbq provided, a good time was had by all.

In the last 12 months we have planted 140 saplings at community planting days organised by Trees for Canterbury and the Christchurch City Council.

Planting Ten Trees a year for each person on the Parish roll is our response to the declaration of of a climate change and ecological emergency at Synod 2019.
