Vestry
Vestry is the governing body of the parish, meeting on the third Tuesday of every month.
Purpose:
Vestry is responsible for the good governance and efficient running of the parish.
Uphold and support the vicar and other clergy of the parish
Develop and enable the vision for the parish
Approve a budget to be presented to the Annual General Meeting
Maintenance and care of parish buildings
Health and Safety of the parish
Elect parish nominators
Record the life of the parish
Other duties as required by church regulations
A vestry resolution is required for the church wardens to sign any contract on behalf of the parish.
Membership:
Two to seven parishioners are elected to vestry every year by the parishioners at the annual general meeting.
Five other parishioners sit on vestry if elected to hold office by the parishioners at the annual general meeting
The members of the vestry are:
The vicar, who is the chairperson of vestry
Other parish clergy
The vicar’s warden - appointed by the vicar
The people’s warden - elected annually by the parishioners at the annual general meeting.
The treasurer - elected annually by the parishioners at the annual general meeting.
Two lay synod representatives - elected every three years at the annual general meeting.
Eligible parishioners must be over 16 years old and registered on the parish roll. Parish employees, the vicar’s relatives, and bankrupts are not eligible for vestry.
Vestry is chaired by the Vicar.

Will we make the choice to live as those who love the way of God and therefore find the depth, refreshment from the true source of life? Or do we choose a life of being blown around in the breeze avoiding the true source of life that provides us with rootedness, security and life?
Isaiah has been called by God to bring the people to account for their actions. They had turned away from God and that was being shown in how they were treating their brothers and sisters. Isaiah recognises his own faults and he is forgiven by God.
